I thought I'd put together a few pony-themed tutorials aimed at the adorable pony art community.
Of course you could apply this particular tutorial to any type of brush making, not just a cutie mark.
I figured I do one on how to make custom brushes since I think it's one of the most useful advanced techniques, and it's really quite simple too.
Making your own cutie mark brush allows you to use it like a stamp tool, so you don't have to draw it over and over again -Pretty nifty!
I imagine it'd be particularly useful for things like comics, where you have to draw the same pony several times. Or if you have a pony that you love drawing over and over.
Your brush will be monochrome and quite, but it's quite easy to colorize it and then to warp and shape it. Maybe my next tutorial will be on how to colorize a black and white value image.
This tutorial was made in photoshop CS3, but all photoshop version (as far as I know) are quite similar. So if you don't have CS3, you shouldn't have too much trouble figuring it out.
