my brushes by CosmicUnicorn my brushes by CosmicUnicorn
Many have asked for my brushes and brush settings.

Finally got around to saving the four I use the most into an .ABR... huzzah!

They're just default photoshop brushes with some adjustments to the settings. Nothing special.
I use these for sketching and painting in Photoshop CS3.

EDIT:

What the hell.
Seriously?

Do you think you could please make these into an image pack? I use Photoshop 7 (and sometimes Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8) and the program file type is too new for the programs to recognize it, even though they can read abr files. It really stinks that I can't use these, since they look so good.

TYSM for this! I'm going to try it out. It's a miracle I could download them in the first place :XD:

I has an issue. Always with the issues :c
Every time I try open the brush in either CS5 or Elements 9 I get the message 'Could not load the brushes “my_brushes_by_crappyunicorn-d4tyetg.abr” because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop.'
Could you spare some logic? I've got no idea what to do. And after searching around some it seems to be a pretty rare occurrence. I'm using a mac, if that makes a difference. Danke :)

Hmmm... should work with CS5... not sure about Elements.
I did make these brushes on a PC, but I don't know why that would cause a hiccup since it's all Adobe. A few other Mac people have had issues.

The only solution I can think of, is that when you save the download make sure the " .abr " file extension is not part of the actual name. When an extension is part of the file name, it can mess things up (it's that pesky little " . " usually). Try downloading it again, but create a new name for the file when you do (make sure there's no " . ")
I know that Macs are different when it comes to showing file extensions, but try it anyways.

Thanks, though it's still acting up.
I doubt this matters, but every time I left-click the link to download, it'll cause my browser to crash. It's only when I right-click save as that it'll download properly.
Regardless, I appreciate the timely response.

I would like to try and use these brushes, but for some reason it doesn't download. Do you have another file or upload them somewhere else?

This is happening to me, too. Are you using a mac, by any chance? Mine was telling me that the start-up disk was full. I freed up some space but it still doesn't seem to let me download these brushes, even though I've managed to download some others just fine.

Yea, I use a mac. I tried it on 2 different macs and it still didn't work.
When I download it, it freezes my internet and the download time keeps going up to like week.

That's what mine was doing, too.
Hmm.
Wonder if there's another way to fix it, then?

Sounds like you don't have enough RAM (so, hardware issue).
The customized settings require more "oomf" (more memory) to run than your standard round brush.

If you go into the brush settings and uncheck "wet edges", "texture", "dual brush" and/or "other dynamics"... then you might have more luck (but it will lack the textures/roughness).

If it's the actual download that's not working, then I don't know what to tell you.
These were made with CS3, and Photoshop isn't always backwards compatible... so if you have an earlier version, that might be part of the problem too.

I've been freeing up loads of space all afternoon and the download's still not working. I use PSE9, so that could probably be the problem right there. :(

Thanks, though.

You can use this to get the appropriate images and use those as brushes in SAI. Look up Paint Tool SAI custom brush creation.
However, if you want a non-photoshop program with fantastic brush editing capabilities, I recommend MyPaint.
